Oct 30, 2014 -- Airborne lidar is a remote-sensing technology that produces accurate 3D data of the bare earth terrain as well as aboveground features such as trees and buildings or other structures. This data is commonly used in a geographic information system (GIS).
The Esri ArcGIS platform can be used to manage, visualize, analyze, and share information generated by massive collections of lidar data. To learn how, tune in to the Esri live training seminar Smart Strategies for Managing Lidar Data on November 6, 2014.
The presenters will talk about how to use ArcGIS to create and share a wide range of products from the data for quantitative mapping and visualization. They will also show you how to manage multiple lidar data collections to support your user community.
After viewing the seminar, you will understand how to
· Organize lidar data and prepare it for analysis.
· Create first-return digital surface model (DSM) and bare-earth digital terrain model (DTM) surfaces and generate other products that can be created on the fly from these base surfaces.
· Integrate multiple lidar collections into a single, optimized management system.
· Provide your users with fast, easy access to lidar data and mapping products.
This seminar will be of interest to data managers, GIS professionals, and others who manage lidar data, generate products from the data, and share them with colleagues in their organization, customers, or the public.
You will need a broadband Internet connection and an Esri Account to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login at the top right, and register your name and e-mail address.
