Oct 8, 2014 -- Software from Yotta is to be used to help deliver a multi-million pound programme of highway maintenance and capital works in London. The Horizons visualised asset management platform, together with Yotta’s Mayrise Highways software, is being implemented by civil engineering company J B Riney after it won contracts worth around £10 million per annum with Tower Hamlets Council.
John Davis, Director at J B Riney, commented, “This is an important contract for us and it was therefore essential that the management solutions we included within our tender were the best available. Yotta has a proven track record in developing and delivering robust, easy to use, yet technologically advanced software, such as Horizons and Mayrise Highways. Their solutions are in use throughout the UK, recommended by Council and contractor users alike, and are well supported.”
Under the contract for Tower Hamlets Council’s Highway Maintenance and Improvement Works programme, J B Riney will use Mayrise Highways to collate and manage condition data and defect reports for the Inner London borough. Mayrise Highways Mobile will also be used to facilitate the introduction of new mobile working practices. Yotta’s Horizons software will be introduced to improve the visualisation of multiple layers of asset mapping, inventory and condition data, improving communication between contractor, Council staff, elected members and residents.
Margaret Cooper, Head of Transport & Highways added “The package offered by J B Riney, including Yotta’s Horizons platform and Mayrise Highways software, offered value for money and a thorough understanding of our specific requirements in this case. We are looking forward to developing our relationship with both organisations further as we move into the contract delivery and software implementation stages.”
J B Riney, supported by Yotta, successfully bid for two out the four lots contained within The London Borough of Tower Hamlets Highways Maintenance and Improvement Works Contract. Lot 1 was titled Carriageway and Footway Maintenance and Gully Cleansing Works and included highway condition and defect inspections together with reactive maintenance of footway, carriageway and highway structures. The Highways Capital Works Contract, Lot 2, included highway, traffic and environmental schemes, footway and carriageway reconstruction projects, as well as drainage and highway structure works. J B Riney was awarded these lots, with an estimated combined contract value of £10.1 million per annum.
