Seamless Integration Increases Trimble V10 Imaging Rover Accessibility to Customer Base
BERLIN, Oct. 7, 2014 — (PRNewswire) — Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today enhancements to its Trimble® V10 Imaging Rover. The Trimble V10 is an integrated camera system that precisely captures 360-degree digital panoramic images for visual documentation and measurement of the surrounding environment. Enhancements include additional integration options and high-dynamic range (HDR) imagery. The Trimble V10 offers an accessible and efficient means of visually documenting site conditions to perform measurements in the office, produce more powerful deliverables and speed up decision making for managers on or off the site. The announcement was made today at INTERGEO 2014, the world's largest conference on geodesy, geoinformatics and land management.
Seamless Integration with Additional Trimble Receivers and Controllers
In addition to the R10 GNSS receiver, the Trimble V10 Imaging Rover now seamlessly integrates with Trimble's R-Series GNSS receivers—the Trimble R8, R6 and R4—and TSC3 controller. Through this seamless integration, geospatial professionals can easily capture high-quality, geo-referenced panoramic images to document the surroundings. Now more Trimble customers can take advantage of the Trimble V10's powerful capabilities. In addition, a new two-piece power rod option enables easy transportation of the Trimble V10.
"Through geo-referenced images, the Trimble V10 has been delivering another level of useful spatial information in a variety of applications worldwide—from land surveying and mining to GIS asset management and power line management," said Phil Sawarynski, business area director of Imaging Solutions for Trimble's Geospatial Division. "Seamless integration with multiple GNSS receivers and controllers makes the Trimble V10 even more accessible to our existing customers and many other geospatial professionals so they can continue to discover the full potential of 'positions from pictures' using the Trimble V10 Imaging Rover solution."
Enhanced Imagery
New high-dynamic range (HDR) imagery in the Trimble V10 enhances the quality of captured photographs enabling geospatial professionals to produce improved deliverables and accurately capture site conditions for colleagues, managers or clients not on site. Geospatial professionals working in variable light conditions, such as in the sun versus in a shadow, can blend images from the Trimble V10 rover head to optimize the image exposure and enhance overall image quality for clearer picture-to-picture contrast.
GCY Saves Time with Trimble V10 for Canal Right-of-Way Project
The Trimble V10 Imaging Rover, Trimble R10 GNSS receiver and Trimble Business Center were selected this year by GCY, Inc., a professional surveying and mapping firm headquartered in Palm City, Florida, to survey and map a canal right of way located near Miami. Due to project complexities, including private property access limitations, the Trimble V10 was used to reduce field labor time on the project. "When we did our estimate on the location of improvements, we figured it would take nearly two hours per lot per crew," said George C. Young, president of GCY. "Using the V10, we significantly reduced our estimated time on the project and it was actually about 20 minutes per lot."
Availability
The Trimble V10 Imaging Rover is available now through Trimble's Geospatial Distribution Channel. Existing Trimble V10 customers can upgrade their firmware. More information is available at: www.trimble.com/v10.
