BROOMFIELD, Colo. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — September 26, 2014 — Brother Mobile Solutions, Inc. (BMS) a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brother International Corporation and premier provider of mobile and desktop thermal printing products, will showcase two new mobile printing solutions at the NBWA’s 77th Annual Convention in New Orleans, September 28 – October 1. The NBWA (National Beer Wholesalers Association) represents the interests of its membership of 3,300 licensed, independent beer distributors.
Taking center stage this year is the RuggedJet™ 4 mobile printer featuring Apple AirPrint™. The feature was added to provide a level of simplicity and flexibility for businesses such as beverage, snack and bakery distributors using the 4” receipt format. The RuggedJet enhancement will help reduce the need for software development, shorten deployment time and give enterprises the security of knowing their printers will work with the array of devices they own, or plan to own - including iPhone and iPad.
“The nation’s thirst for craft beer and cider means more SKUs and new challenges for distributors, so this is an extremely important market for us,” states Ravi Panjwani, VP Marketing and Product Management for Brother Mobile Solutions. “Beer distribution is a fast-paced industry where efficient route accounting and management are essential to gaining a competitive edge. Our next-generation mobile printing products are designed to hone that edge by making on-the-fly receipt, order and document printing as fast and easy as possible.”
AirPrint meets the demands of IT decision makers as well as route drivers
Brother RuggedJet 4-inch handheld receipt and label printers allow users to wirelessly print directly from iPad®, iPhone® and iPod Touch devices without the need to download or install drivers or interfaces. For delivery drivers, this capability streamlines and simplifies the mobile printing experience. For IT and corporate purchasing managers, this means the printer will work with a greater array of devices than ever - including iOS, smartphone, and tablets.
Previously deployed RuggedJet 4 Wi-Fi printers are backward compatible with AirPrint via a simple firmware update available from Brother.
RuggedJet 4 mobile printers are designed for high-speed, high-resolution printing of 2- to 4-inch wide documents, labels and receipts from convenient drop-in thermal media rolls.
Brother Debuts New Line of PocketJet 6 All-in-One Printer Cases
Also new this year is Brother’s line of compact all-in-one mobile printer cases for the popular PocketJet 6 full-page mobile printer. The series includes the PJ6 Rugged Roll Case and PJ6 Rugged Fanfold Case, which enable mobile workers to print full-page documents in the field and on the road from virtually any device. Designed for optimal user versatility both in and out of vehicles, the roll cases can be carried comfortably and conveniently with a provided shoulder strap, or can be securely stowed within a briefcase.
The new full-page mobile printer cases feature rugged construction, ultra-secure latches, and a media viewing window. They hold the printer, paper and battery snugly and securely. Moreover, their smart design provides easy access to all printer controls, power and ports, so users can initiate printing at the click of a button and can even charge the battery without opening the case.
