NAFEMS’ Professional Simulation Engineer (PSE) is recognised by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME).
GLASGOW, UK, Sep 16th 2014 – NAFEMS, the International Association for the Engineering Analysis Community, whose recently launched PSE certification , received full recognition by the JSME, Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers. NAFEMS and the JSME came to a mutual agreement in recognizing the certification that each organisations offer. More precisely, it has been agreed that the standard and advanced level of PSE and the JSME senior analyst qualifications are equivalent to one another. This implies that an engineer holding one of this certification can be granted the other certificate if he/she requests it. The organisation where he/she got his 1st certificate from will then recommend this engineer to the other organisation and after paying the related fee he/she will then be granted the other certification.
This mutual recognition happened a few months after the successful
NAFEMS Japan 2013 event which aimed to contribute to the further development of NAFEMS’s activities in Simulation Engineering in Japan.
“We are making strides towards our development in this region and cooperating with the JSME allows us to progress significantly. We look forward to cooperating with all the JSME members” commented Tim Morris, NAFEMS CEO.
PSE (Professional Simulation Engineer) Certification allows engineers and analysts within the international simulation community to demonstrate competencies acquired throughout their career. Independently assessed by NAFEMS, the certification enables individuals to gain recognition for their level of competency and experience as well as enabling industry to identify suitable and qualified personnel.
“This agreement will provide NAFEMS with a wealth of opportunities to learn, network, engage and connect with the Japanese simulation community in a way that no other association would be able to offer.” added David Quinn, Head of Marketing and Communications at NAFEMS. “The agreement with JSME will cement the position of our organisation within the region as the international association in the engineering analysis community.”
The PSE certification was officially launched at the
2013 NAFEMS World Congress with the drive to provide certification and competency tracking for individuals and companies working within the simulation industry. The PSE qualification scheme offers a unique capability for a company to assess and track their engineering analysis and simulation personnel. In addition, the PSE system has been recently updated and will enable candidates to have a smoother experience
when applying for the certification. (To know more about NAFEMS’ PSE certification:
