Intel Innovation
World Maker Faire is pleased to welcome back Intel, a long-time sponsor of Maker Faire, as a Goldsmith Sponsor of this year's Faire. Intel delivers accessible and open development platforms to the maker community to empower makers of all ages. Inside Intel's exhibit, attendees can get an up close and personal look at the latest Intel tools and technologies for makers and inventors. Genevieve Bell, Intel Corporation Fellow and cultural anthropologist, will be on hand to share her thoughts on "Being Human in a Digital World: Lessons from the Intersections of Technology and Culture" on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 1 pm on the NYSCI Auditorium stage.

Intel will also showcase what makers are creating using Intel's platforms for innovation, including the second generation Intel® Galileo board, as well as demonstrate projects built using the newly released Intel® Edison -- an ultra-small form factor development platform for prototyping and productization. Jim Chase, product manager for Intel Edison and Intel's Galileo platform, will present "Introducing Intel Edison" on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 2 pm on the NYSCI Auditorium stage. Attendees will learn how the new Intel Edison technology can drive innovation and lower the barriers to entry for entrepreneurial ventures.

Intel is a founding sponsor, along with Maker Media, of the Maker Education Initiative, and is a proud, long-time supporter of STEM education and hands-on learning. World Maker Faire provides Intel with the opportunity to introduce young makers to the creative possibilities of technology and to show off projects created through programs such as those hosted through the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network. Projects made using Intel technologies, as well as Intel-sponsored activities, can be found throughout World Maker Faire New York 2014.

About Maker Faire
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth -- a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It's a place where people of all ages and backgrounds gather together to show what they are making and share what they are learning.

Maker Faire launched in 2006 in San Mateo, California, less than a year after its parent publication, MAKE Magazine, launched in 2005. Maker Faire celebrated 100 Faires in 2013 alone and has reached over 1.5 million attendees globally since its inception. The ninth annual Maker Faire Bay Area welcomed some 1,100 maker entries and over 130,000 attendees. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagship event, has grown in five years to 700+ makers and 75,000+ attendees. Detroit, Kansas City, Rome, Paris, Oslo, Trondheim, Newcastle (UK), Orlando, Silver Spring, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Tokyo and Shenzhen host the "featured" Maker Faires (200+ makers), and community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires inspire and ignite creative communities everywhere around the United States and internationally.

Located in Sebastopol and Oakland, California, Maker Media has been widely credited with jumpstarting the worldwide Maker Movement, which has been a transforming force in innovation, culture, and education. In addition to publishing MAKE Magazine and producing Maker Faire, Maker Media develops "getting started" kits and books it sells through its Maker Shed store as well as other retail channels.
