August 08, 2014 -- Siemens PLM Software has released version 27.0 of its Parasolid software. The new version delivers enhancements to solve problems experienced by sophisticated end-users who encounter complex geometry configurations, particularly in extended workflows. Enhancements in the latest release deliver high-value solutions to application developers built on industry proven technology. Parasolid provides high-level geometric functionality that can be achieved most productively and robustly at the kernel modeler level, freeing application developers to focus on their customers’ other requirements. Parasolid is the geometric modeling kernel used in many world-leading CAD/CAM/CAE/AEC products including Siemens’ own Solid Edge and NX software.
Siemens PLM Software has also released KineoWorks 3.0, a leading software component for collision-free path planning in a broad range of applications including robotics, human accessibility studies and assembly/disassembly verification. Version 3.0 dramatically simplifies the planning of complex motion in offline and online machine control applications and provides new tools for generating optimum manufacturing and inspection sequences. Complex path-planning problems in welding, painting, cutting and related manufacturing processes are solved with new algorithms that account for complex tool trajectories. Kineo Collision Detector Version 3.0 is also now available, enabling high speed collision checking in motion studies and point cloud applications. Applications benefit from advanced scene-setting tools and more sophisticated use of parallel processing for improved performance.
