Sharing geographic information system (GIS) data and maps with a global audience is becoming more important every day.

But in order to share geospatial solutions worldwide, GIS technology needs to be interoperable—complying with common standards-based data formats and web protocols. Esri’s ArcGIS platform supports and uses specifications from the most influential GIS standards organization, the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC).

To learn about the interoperable capabilities of ArcGIS, tune into the live training seminar Achieving Interoperability Using ArcGIS and OGC Standards on June 26, 2014.

After viewing this seminar, you will understand how you can use the Esri ArcGIS platform to work with OGC standards to

  • Access and consume key OGC mapping formats using standard ArcGIS clients
  • Create and share GIS maps, analysis, imagery, and data in a wide variety of OGC web protocols using ArcGIS technology
  • Support services that can be consumed by custom applications created using non-Esri and open source client Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Make generally available custom OGC-based application samples and code via Esri on GitHub, an open source code sharing community.

This seminar will be of interest to anyone who needs to share GIS maps, data, and analysis globally.

Those who already work with OGC standards, especially web services protocols, will find this particularly useful.

A basic understanding of GIS principles is required and familiarity with OGC specifications is recommended.

You will need a broadband Internet connection and an Esri Global Account to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Global Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address.
