Research reveals growing interest in 3D printing to make customized household items
HOUSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 30, 2014 — Research agency OnePoll recently surveyed 1,000 U.S. consumers and found that one in three Americans would consider buying a 3D printer for home use in 2014. The survey reported 65 percent of these potential buyers were interested in creating and printing customized household items.
As Americans are increasingly open to the practical uses for 3D printers, Puget Technologies (OTCBB: PUGE) an emerging leader in the 3D space, recently launched its IdeaWerk high performance 3D printer for the consumer market through its subsidiary, Weistek USA.
Realizing ease-of-use is important to Americans accustomed to plug-and-play features, Weistek USA has paired the new printer with an industry first “premium care plan” that includes printer set-up and PC support designed to deliver the best “print-out-of-the-box” experience for consumers new to 3D printing. Paired with an impressive line-up of quality features at an attractive introductory price of $999 along with the benefit of responsive domestic customer care, the IdeaWerk printer offers even first-timers an unprecedented 3D experience.
“Puget is pleased to be part of the 3D printing revolution which is helping these devices become more affordable and accessible to American consumers,” said Gary Valentine, President and CEO of Puget. He added, “We are encouraged by studies such as this, which point to the near future when 3D printers will be standard household equipment.”
Among the key attributes of the IdeaWerk 3D printer are user-friendliness, compact and portable hardware, a solid metal body and up to 120 hours of continuous printing. This high performance model was awarded “Best Annual 3D Printer” during January’s massive International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Since the availability of the IdeaWerk high performance 3D printer units is limited, consumers are encouraged to place their orders now. Details are available at www.weistekusa.com.
