Best-in-class physical design tools drive major new contracts, renewals and expansions
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 31, 2014 — ATopTech, the leader in next generation physical design solutions that address the challenges associated with advanced semiconductor process nodes (such as 16/14nm FinFET), marked the company’s eighth year of continued growth. Included in new business in 2013 were companies such as Mellanox Technologies, Samsung Austin R&D Center (SARC), and Solarflare. Cypress Semiconductor reported that it had completely switched over to ATopTech tools, while renewals of existing multi-million dollar, multi-year contracts with companies such as Broadcom Corporation and PMC-Sierra also contributed to growth.
“Given our aggressive schedules, ATopTech’s tools allowed us to achieve our challenging design goals much quicker and much more predictably, while using fewer engineering resources,” said Keith Hawkins, senior vice president, Samsung Austin R&D Center. “ATopTech enabled us to significantly reduce area and power while increasing the performance of our latest designs.”
“Place and route technology is critical to our design projects, especially when we moved to the 28nm process node,” said Evelyn Landman, vice president of Back-End Engineering at Mellanox Technologies. “We selected ATopTech’s physical design tools because we were impressed with the tools’ ease of use while maintaining excellent QoR.”
"Cypress has used ATopTech's Aprisa and Apogee solutions for several years now and found the tools to be flexible and fast with excellent silicon results,” said Dragomir Nikolich, director of CAD at Cypress Semiconductor. “Aprisa's ability to handle a very large number of scenarios, routing capability, timing and power accuracy have been an incredible asset. Front to back correlation of results has been exceptional, allowing us to accurately predict final chip sizes very early, enabling early sound business decisions. In addition, the support we've received from ATopTech has been extraordinary -- from enhancements and improvements in order to support our proprietary process all the way to routing engine enhancements to obtain the highest routed gate density we've seen."
ATopTech has been delivering advanced place and route solutions to leading semiconductor companies for the past eight years. The company’s sustained growth is due to their commitment to customers to deliver shorter design time, improved productivity and quality results for leading-edge sub-nanometer designs.
“ATopTech’s consistent rate of growth is driven by providing value to our customers. A healthy balance of renewal orders, expansion orders from existing customers, and competitive wins resulting in new customers,” said Eric Thune, vice president of sales and marketing at ATopTech. “Our customer’s view place and route technology as a competitive differentiator for them, and ATopTech’s tools and high level of support help them achieve that.”
