Having worked hard to take imaginative and thought provoking photos, and to garner enough votes to get into the top 5, the entrants went on to share their experiences using the free mobile CAD app, ZWCAD TOUCH.
On-site Design Library
Many entrants were introduced to the idea of mobile CAD software for the first time through the competition, and were delighted to discover the possibilities it brings. 2nd place winner, Simon Steel, was hugely impressed with the ability to have his designs onsite. “If I am on site or even in the workshop, it is often quicker to check drawing details on my iPad than on my PC.” Eduardo Fernando Da Silva concurs by saying he often uses it to “show the project during the construction to the workers, answering any questions that they may have.”
Improved Client Communication
Another use of ZWCAD Touch that impressed the new users was the ability to easily share designs with clients. Whether through direct sharing in meetings, or by sending designs to clients’ mobile devices, the users found that it significantly improved the speed and efficiency of communication. Minwoo Lee uses ZWCAD Touch to “meet with clients for presentation and planning,” while Ju Won also finds it hugely useful whilst in meetings with clients and contributors.
Speed and Simplicity
Some entrants already had experience with mobile CAD software before switching to ZWCAD Touch, with many proclaiming that the improved speed compared to other apps, such as AutoCAD360, was a major highlight. Paul Mihai Tripon was a user of “AutoCAD 360 and SimLab CAD Viewer on iPad” and stated that “ZWCAD Touch is faster, and allows me to check dimensions far easier.” The speed and simplified ease of use were both features that impressed many of the competition entrants.
Whether entrants have recently been introduced to mobile CAD software, recently switched from other software, or were long term users of ZWCAD Touch, they have all found its features and potential uses hugely useful in simplifying the design, communication and manufacturing of their products.
