65 dB SNR with Low-Power Mode for ‘AlwaysOn’ Applications
BARCELONA, Spain — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 25, 2014 — InvenSense, Inc. (NYSE: INVN), the leading provider of MotionTracking™ system on chip (SoC) and Sound devices, announces the InvenSense ICS-40161 top port MEMS microphone targeted towards mobile electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, remote controls, smart TVs, Bluetooth headsets, and digital still/video cameras. The new InvenSense ICS-40161 top port microphone provides the same performance as the previously announced ICS-40160 bottom port microphone. The availability of both a top and bottom port microphone provides customers maximum flexibility in mechanical and acoustical design.
Contextual awareness is driving the need for low-power ‘AlwaysOn’ sensors. The ICS-40161 microphone meets this challenge with its ‘AlwaysOn’ mode, while offering 65 dB SNR, high Acoustic Overload Point (AOP), and excellent matching in high performance mode.
“InvenSense has achieved another industry first, delivering a top port microphone matching the performance of its bottom port counterpart,” said Ali Foughi, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at InvenSense. “InvenSense continues to lead the industry in bringing innovative human-like interface, including both motion and audio, to consumer electronics.”
Sampling of the InvenSense ICS-40161 will commence in Q2 of 2014. InvenSense is exhibiting in booth # D61 in Hall 7 at the 2014 Mobile World Congress taking place in Barcelona, Spain from February 24 - 27, 2014.
