New chips position HDBaseT as the industry standard for 4K video delivery
AMSTERDAM — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 5, 2014 — Valens, the developer of HDBaseT technology and a founding member of the HDBaseT Alliance, today launches its new generation of chipsets compliant with the HDBaseT 2.0 specification. The Valens Colligo family adds support for native interfaces such as USB 2.0 and audio interfaces, as well as infrastructures such as fiber optics, and enables the transmission of 4K video over longer distances.
ISE 2014 attendees can learn more about Colligo product family first-hand by visiting the HDBaseT Alliance booth: Hall 7, Booth 7C190.
“Our industry sees a steady increase in 4K adoption, resulting in a growing demand for adequate connectivity solutions,” said Dror Jerushalmi, CEO of Valens. “The introduction of Valens Colligo Family and its support for 4k over long distances makes HDBaseT the only connectivity standard capable of supporting this demand.”
The Colligo product family will comprise several new chipsets that Valens will roll out over the coming months. The first three are:
- VS2000 - 5Play™ Gen 2.0
- VS2310 - 5Play™ Gen 2.0 Plus - a high-end 5Play chipset that includes native USB 2.0 support and inter-device connectivity
- VS2311 - 5Play™ Gen 2.0 Fiber - introduces HDBaseT over fiber for transmission over much longer distances
All the new chips feature enhanced performance improved robustness and noise resistance, and support multiple cable types and interfaces, including HDMI 2.0 support.
The Colligo chips are flexible and designed to address the needs of various markets such as Pro-AV, Consumer Electronics, broadcasting, healthcare and Industrial PCs. Manufacturers will be able to implement the Colligo chips into their new HD projectors, industrial PCs, single wire TVs, digital signage displays, multi-stream video switching / distribution / aggregation, daisy chaining, video extenders over CatX / fiber optics cables, AV matrixes, and AV receivers.
Engineering samples will be available in June 2014. For more information visit http://www.valens.com/products, or contact press@hdbaset.org.
