Sanken is a provider of power supply and power management solutions for the electronics industry, satisfying diverse requirements of its customers. Their core business is the production and sales of semiconductor devices, and their focus in on automotive and whitegoods appliances markets. Sanken has a history of offering creative and advanced products based on their technology and know-how, and being an innovator in the power electronics industry.
Sanken reviewed their SPICE model parameter extraction work, evaluated the tools and SPICE models, and decided to adopt Silvaco's HiSIM_HV model parameter extraction environment. Immediately after the adoption, it was placed in active use for product designs and some have already been released for production. Silvaco's Utmost IV has an advanced automatic extraction function and facilitates parameter extraction of the HiSIM_HV model describing the unique characteristics of high breakdown voltage transistors.
"The growth of our company largely depends on our semiconductor technology, and assurance and improvement of quality, reliability and productivity are very important for us," said Masao Hoshino, Senior Vice President of Sanken. "In the selection of an EDA vendor, we place importance not only on the initial cost but also the technical support, such as quick response to inquiries during initial application of leading-edge SPICE models. We believe that the adoption of Silvaco's SPICE model parameter extraction flow, supporting HiSIM_HV, enables a reduction in turnaround time for parameter extraction, improvement of design quality, and adds value to our products."
"We are very pleased with the adoption of Silvaco's product by Sanken," said David Halliday, CEO of Silvaco. "We continue to be a top vendor in SPICE model parameter extraction. In addition, we will support SPICE models for leading-edge high breakdown voltage devices in cooperation with universities and research institutes. Silvaco will continue to contribute to the power semiconductor industry with the high performance Utmost IV and Silvaco's other innovative solutions."
