Esri ArcGIS now comes with simpler and more powerful tools to manage, process, and share imagery.
To learn to use these tools, tune in to the Esri live training seminar Sharing Cached Imagery in ArcGIS on January 30, 2014. During the one-hour seminar, you will learn how to provide easy access to imagery collections using ArcGIS for Desktop caching tools and ArcGIS Online.
You will get an overview of the different methods of serving imagery. You will then learn how to quickly cache an image using ArcGIS for Desktop and upload and publish it using ArcGIS Online. It's a very inexpensive way to make your imagery accessible as a background in web, mobile, and desktop applications.
You will also learn the basics of managing imagery collections using mosaic datasets, which can then be cached and served using ArcGIS for Server.
After viewing this seminar, you will understand how to do the following:
• Evaluate whether your imagery is suitable for sharing in a cached format
• Use ArcGIS for Desktop to create an image cache
• Upload and serve an image cache using ArcGIS Online
• Create and cache a mosaic dataset for larger collections
• Serve cached imagery through ArcGIS for Server
This seminar requires a preliminary understanding of imagery concepts. Familiarity with mosaic datasets would be beneficial.
You will need a broadband Internet connection and an Esri Global Account to watch the live training seminar. Creating an Esri Global Account is easy and free: visit esri.com/lts, click Login, and register your name and address.
