Thirty-Two Channel High Voltage Analog Switch From Supertex Delivers Enhanced Image Quality for Medical Ultrasound Imaging Applications

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Dec 10, 2013 -- Supertex (NASDAQ: SUPX), a recognized leader in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced two new high voltage 32-channel analog switches -- HV2802 and HV2902. Both ICs are intended for use in applications requiring high voltage switching controlled by low voltage control signals such as in diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging, non-destructive metal flaw detection, inkjet printer heads, piezoelectric transducer drivers, and optical MEMS modules.

The HV2802 and HV2902 feature an SPST configuration for switching independence and flexible connections. Using Supertex's HVCMOS technology, these devices combine high voltage bilateral DMOS switches and low power CMOS logic to provide efficient control of high voltage analog signals. The HV2902 also features integrated bleed resistors to discharge residual DC voltages and reduce erroneous signals. Both ICs may be utilized with multiple combinations of high voltage supplies (VPP/VNN) to accommodate different operating modes in diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging such as +40V/-160V, +100V/-100V, or +160V/-40V.

"The HV2802 and HV2902 have the largest number of single-pole-single-throw voltage analog switches in a package that the industry has to offer," states Jimes Lei, Director of Applications Engineer for Supertex. "These products will allow the medical ultrasound system designers to further reduce their board sizes."

The HV2802 and HV2902 are available in a lead(Pb)-free/RoHS compliant 78-ball 9x9 LFGA package (HV2802LB-G and HV2902LB-G). Samples are available from stock. Pricing is US$21.23 and US$21.59 each in 1K quantities for the HV2802LB-G and HV2902LB-G, respectively.
