SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 26, 2013 — (PRNewswire) — UBM Tech, which serves design engineers and the electronics industry with essential business and technical information, today announced that Janine Love has been promoted to Technical Director of DesignCon, the premier educational conference and technology exhibition focused on the pervasive nature of signal integrity for chip, board and systems design engineers in the high speed communications and semiconductor communities. DesignCon is scheduled to take place January 28 – 31, 2014 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. In this position, Love will be responsible for working directly with the advisory board to build the conference's technical program beginning with DesignCon 2015, including papers, panels and tutorials. Love has been working closely with the DesignCon team for several months on the development of the DesignCon 2014 technical program and providing editorial support. Love will succeed Barry Sullivan, Program Development Director at Electrical & Computer Engineering Department Heads Association. Sullivan has served as the Technical Director for DesignCon for the past 11 years.
After her first DesignCon, Janine said, "I've been to a lot of conferences and shows in this industry, and this was by far the best." Now Love gets to bring her skills and talents to bear as a part of that conference's winning team.
In addition, Love is spearheading the new EDN PCB Design Center, which is dedicated to advancing the state-of-the-art in printed circuit board technology and design, and will continue as editor of EE Times Memory Designline, which she helped launch.
"I am thrilled to be working with Janine in this expanded role," said Simon Carless, Executive Vice President, Events at UBM Tech. "Her background in test and measurement, her community experience as well as her involvement in all three areas (EDN, EE Times, and DesignCon) will provide her with a unique opportunity to help realize our core strategy of tightly coupling our live events and online communities: this is a win for all!"
A veteran journalist with 20+ years of editorial expertise in high-tech and electrical engineering, Love has been a full-time member of the UBM Tech team for two years. Previously, she founded Writing Solutions, a technical writing and communications firm focused on technical white papers and articles, and worked as an adjunct professor.
