Coral Gables Facility Will Support Distributors and Users in Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Southeastern United States
Redlands, California — November 11, 2013—Esri continues to expand its global presence with the opening of its Miami, Florida, office on November 1. This latest venture demonstrates Esri's commitment to supporting the domestic and international GIS user community.
The Esri office in Coral Gables, a suburb southwest of downtown Miami, has a dual purpose: to increase the company's technical and business support for customers and distributors in Latin America and the Caribbean and—at the same time—reinforce its business infrastructure in the southeastern United States, according to Leandro M. Rodriguez, Esri general manager for Latin America and the Caribbean.
We are extremely excited that we are opening a new office in Miami," said Rodriguez. "It will allow us to bring our increasing capabilities and growing team much closer to our expanding community of customers, distributors, and partners in this region."
The new Esri facility is located near Miami's famous Miracle Mile and features a state-of-the-art executive conference center for executive and customer meetings, seminars on the latest Esri software, and technology workshops and demonstrations. Offices for all Esri staff dedicated to Latin America, the Caribbean, and the southeastern United States will be located in these facilities, and the company expects the number of employees to increase progressively.
"Miami-Dade County continues to make the investments necessary to create a world-class climate of economic attraction where the businesses of today andtomorrow will be able to succeed," said Miami-Dade County mayor Carlos A. Gimenez. "Esri's plans to open its new facilities in Miami-Dade County confirms our commitment to open our doors to technology innovators, giving them unparalleled access to an experienced work force, and markets in Latin America and beyond."
Jack Dangermond, Esri founder and president, observed that use of GIS in Latin America has experienced rapid and continuous growth over the past several years.
"While our current implementations have been well supported by the Esri distributor network, I believe the time is right to establish an Esri office focused in the region to help our users leverage their long-standing GIS investment and get more value in the challenging future," Dangermond said.
Esri's new Miami office is located at 55 Miracle Mile, Suite 250, Coral Gables, FL 33134.
