October 29, 2013 -- Exprodat, the petroleum GIS services, software and training specialist has recently released Exploration Analyst, the latest addition to their Team-GIS suite of oil and gas software; an ArcGIS extension for petroleum play chance mapping, resource assessment, and acreage analysis.
Combining their experience of oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) workflows with their knowledge of Esri technology, Exprodat created the Team-GIS software suite to help E&P teams leverage the power of the ArcGIS platform.
Team-GIS Exploration Analyst is an extension to Esri’s ArcGIS software that has been specifically designed to let geoscientists in exploration and new ventures departments, easily and simply apply essential play based exploration (PBE) workflows.
Using Team-GIS Exploration Analyst will allow petroleum explorationists to make better decisions by focussing their activity on the play, while validating prospect volumes and chance of success against regional play risk and maturity.
Exprodat Technical Director Chris Jepps explained why the company developed the Team-GIS Exploration Analyst; “Our new Exploration Analyst helps geoscientists assess basin, play and prospect statistics using familiar exploration tools such as creaming curves and pool size distributions, among others.
The release represents a significant upgrade to the first generation of our GIS-based petroleum exploration tools, Segment Analyst and Acreage Analyst, and provides a platform for completing exploration workflows using Esri’s ArcGIS.”
