ATS Initiates Free Training Program

October 24, 2013 - ATS (Adaptive Technology Solutions) is excited to announce “Manufacturing Pays”, a series of free training programs throughout the State of Ohio, for individuals who are Veterans of the U.S. Military; individuals unemployed or under-employed; and individuals that have a background in a non-manufacturing environment, and have an interest in pursuing a well-paying job in the manufacturing industry.

The initial FREE training program will be held the week of November 4th, Monday through Friday, from 6pm - 9pm. This five day program provides attendees with basic CNC knowledge. In addition, attendees will learn the skills needed to program G-code, CAM, and Edgecam Workflow.

Today, the challenge the manufacturing industry has is with perception. The vision most Americans have is one of a dirty, greasy, filthy environment, similar to those of the early 1900’s. However, the reality is far from perception. Today, most manufacturing facilities are typically very clean and provide excellent wages. In 2011, the average manufacturing worker in the United States earned $77,060 annually, including pay and benefits, while contributing more than $1.87 trillion to the U.S. economy in 2012, according to the National Association for Manufacturing.

For many individuals a 4-year college degree is the key to a successful future. However, after successfully completing the program, many attendees may use their Technical Learning Certificate (TLC) to lead them to find a lucrative career in manufacturing by pursuing a technical degree. After successfully completing the program, each attendee will receive an Edgecam license, which comes with yearly updates and training updates.

About Edgecam:
As part of the Vero Software Group, Edgecam is used globally within a multitude of industries, providing a complete solution for milling, turning and mill-turn programming. Edgecam Workflow is specifically designed for manufacturers to reduce costs, improve quality and achieve shorter lead times. The new release guides the user through the programming process in four easy, quick steps – part setup, feature creation, toolpath creation, and post processing. Once each step is complete, the user moves seamlessly to the next stage, completing each process in turn, resulting in a fully programmed, fully collision free, checked part, resulting in a swift and accurate generation of CNC code.
