Event Seeks “The Way Forward to Global Prosperity through Intelligent Manufacturing Collaboration”
Milford, OH, September 13, 2013 – International TechneGroup, Incorporated (ITI) announced today their sponsorship of the World Manufacturing Forum (WMF) 2013 event at the Ronald Reagan Center in Washington, DC, October 22 – 23.
With the theme of “The Way Forward to Global Prosperity through Intelligent Manufacturing Collaboration”, the Forum intends to focus on collaboration to create a global environment for sustainable economic success through sharing resources, creating and supporting common platforms for standards and interoperability, encouraging SMEs to adapt robotics, and finding innovative ways to leverage R&D investments. Because technology and skills are key innovation differentiators, the Forum will also discuss the role of educational institutions and companies in training the next generation of workers in the highly technical field of manufacturing.
The Forum aims to bring together high-level industrialists, policy makers, and key societal stakeholders across the globe for a cross-exchange of ideas on major macroeconomic trends and manufacturing innovation. “The World Manufacturing Forum promises to offer a unique opportunity for collaboration between technology and innovation leaders and key players in international policy and business.” says Don Hemmelgarn, President of ITI’s TranscenData product data interoperability business.
ITI is pleased that Don Hemmelgarn has been selected to Chair the “Global Standards for Products and Manufacturing” session of the Forum, which will seek to identify future standards that will be required for service-oriented manufacturing, data archiving, and new technologies.
Bob Kiggans, Vice Chairman of ITI’s Board of Directors, Vice Chairman at SCRA Applied R&D and Chairman at Intelligent Manufacturing Systems is managing this year’s Forum. “We are excited about the WMF being held for the first time in the United States” stated Kiggans, “The first two events held in Lake Como, Italy and Stuttgart, Germany were very successful. This year the focus is on collaboration. We have an exciting and distinguished list of plenary speakers, and we’ve also introduced sponsorship packages for the first time. It promises to be a first class event at the Reagan Center in Washington DC, and we hope to see you there!”
