RANDOLPH, NJ – September 12, 2013
AMC Bridge announces the release of CADtoEarth 2.0, a new version of the add-in for Autodesk Inventor, one of the most popular tools in the family of add-ins that establish a bidirectional connection between CAD environments and Google Earth or Google Maps.
The new version is available at the Autodesk Exchange Apps Store and supports both Autodesk Inventor 2013 and Autodesk Inventor 2014. CADtoEarth 2.0 now allows users to create personal accounts in the CADtoEarth web community and provides individual control over the visibility of uploaded data.
CADtoEarth™ is a family of innovative add-in applications for the most popular CAD packages, linking modeling environments with Google Earth and Microsoft Virtual Earth.
CADtoEarth offers exciting capabilities, including the ability to:
- Upload a model directly from a modeling session onto Google Earth or Microsoft Virtual Earth;
- Import a section of the earth’s surface directly from Google Earth into a modeling session;
- Position a 3D structure on the imported surface within a modeling session and subsequently upload it back to Google Earth or Microsoft Virtual Earth;
- Perform the same operations on 2D objects in a modeling environment and Google Maps.
CADtoEarth can currently be downloaded for the following platforms: SolidWorks, Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Inventor.
