City Officials Will Explain Operational Management Solution at Esri UC
Redlands, California—July 3, 2013—When officials of Wilson, North Carolina, decided to expand the city's broadband network, operators wanted real-time business intelligence. They found it in an operational management solution built on the ArcGIS platform. Now the city is lowering costs and providing better customer service.
Officials from the City of Wilson will be at the Esri International User Conference (Esri UC) Esri Telecom User Group Meeting to tell how they managed an efficient network expansion, fromnoon to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at the Marriott, Marina—Salon E, in San Diego, California.
The ArcGIS platform was used to develop the City of Wilson’s operational management solution, Overture GIS, from Esri partner Geographic Technologies Group and its partner ETI Software Solutions. Overture GIS is designed for people who need to plan and manage broadband networks, reduce operating expenses, and improve customer service.
"GIS has guided our network expansion, increased efficiency across all business units, and improved customer satisfaction—helping us consistently maintain a churn rate of less than 2 percent," said Will Aycock, general manager, City of Wilson/Greenlight Community Broadband.
