June 18, 2013 -- Visual Intelligence, a leading provider of the iOne STKA, a software architecture from which all kinds of multi-purpose sensors can be built (airborne or mobile miniaturized), fused or integrated in an economical, efficient and effective way; with rapid deployment and ease of maintenance in the field, announced today it is partnering with Pix4D, which provides professional unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) processing software.
The partnership plans innovations that will help aerial imaging customers enhance their own products. Visual Intelligence’s iOne sensors are scalable to the miniaturization level, and both companies share an open systems approach whereby the same software workflow can be applied in products ranging from large systems to UAV and miniaturized (mobile) systems.
“Worldwide geoimaging customers are looking for the multipurpose (sensor fusion), economical quality systems with high performance we provide,” said Visual Intelligence President and CEO Dr. Armando Guevara. “With Pix4D software, our customers will be able to leverage the values of this unique system as all output will integrate with Pix4D. Together we expect to quickly come to market with geoimaging collection and processing innovations that synergize our paradigm -- from the camera sensor to desktop actionable information.”
“More and more we see the transition from a two‐dimensional representation of geographic information towards a real three-dimensional description of our environment,” said Dr. Christoph Strecha, CEO and Founder of Pix4D. “This step requires new technology, both on the image capturing side as well as for automatic processing of the raw imagery. Visual Intelligence is developing a unique modular system of cameras that delivers high quality obliques very efficiently. Our partnership does result in the tide integration of software and hardware for very easy and user friendly solutions to various applications, the generation of semantic 3D city models being one of them.”
About Pix4D
