Environmental management improved by using geospatial technologies

Essential tool in territorial planning, geospatial technologies are revolutionizing the way to manage properties

Curitiba, May 20, 2013 -- A number of courses that will take place on June 18 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, will present how to take advantage of geospatial data and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in land management, urban planning and public and private administration. The Course Georeferencing of Rural Properties will discuss the new legislation on the subject and also address technical aspects such as the surveying, a matter of importance to homeowners and technicians working with surveys. Workshop on Rural Environmental Registry (CAR, in portuguese), focusing on the new Forest Code, will address the key aspects of this new instrument of environmental rural regulation, with emphasis on the technical and regulatory challenges associated with the implementation of “CAR” and the opportunities open to service providers, businesses and governments.

Also the Course of Geo in Cities Management will bring solutions to avoid errors in the stages of design, purchase and upgrade programs in medium and small city halls. A representative of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will be the instructor of a course on Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI), with emphasis on the Brazilian initiative to organize geographic information.

And finally, there will be a mini-course that will present why to implement Geomarketing in companies and what lucrative benefits it brings, with two qualified instructors in the sector of geographic intelligence.

The mini-courses will be conducted as part of the programming of MundoGEO#Connect LatinAmerica 2013 - Conference and Trade Fair on Geomatics and Geospatial Solutions - and they will be six hours long and include certificate. They are approached to professionals who want to learn the basics and know the possibilities of application of geospatial technologies.
