March 11, 2013 - McLean, Va. … AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology elected its 2013-2014 officers and directors on Friday, March 8, at its 2013 Annual Meeting in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
The Board of Directors of the Association that represents approximately 600 American manufacturers and distributors of machine tools, manufacturing machinery and related products, named R. Stephen Flynn, President, Optical Gaging Products, Inc., Rochester, N.Y., to serve as Chairman. He follows Co-Chairmen Timothy B. Dining, President & CEO, Greenerd Press & Machine Company, Inc., Nashua, N.H., and Ronald J. Mager, President & CEO, Machinery Systems, Inc., Schaumburg, Ill.
The Board elected Kevin Kilgallen, President-Owner, Mid Atlantic Machinery, Inc., Harrisburg, Pa., to serve as First Vice Chairman/Treasurer in the coming year. Also elected was Jerry Rex, President, Hegman Machinery, LLC, A Morris Group, Inc. Company, Maple Grove, Minn., to serve as Second Vice Chairman.
Brian J. Papke, President, Mazak Corporation, Florence, Ky., has been elected Secretary.
Newly elected to a 3-year term as a member of the association’s Board of Directors are Richard Gilchrist, President & CEO, Felsomat USA, Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., and Thomas R. Dillon, Vice Chairman, Mori Seiki USA, Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Chairman
R. Stephen Flynn is President, Optical Gaging Products, Inc., Rochester, N.Y. He has held this position since November 2006. Mr. Flynn was previously Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at Optical Gaging Products. Mr. Flynn has been a member of the AMT Board of Directors since 2007. He is serving his second year of a 3-year term.
First Vice Chairman and Treasurer
Kevin Kilgallen has been President and Owner, Mid Atlantic Machinery, Harrisburg, Pa., since 2011. He co-founded the company in 1991. He also co-founded Southern States Machinery, Greensboro, N.C., in 2002, and Southern States Machinery, Tampa, Fla., in 2006. Prior to that, he was with Fox Machinery Associates, Bridgeport, Pa., Teledyne Rodney Metals, New Bedford, Mass., and York Steel Co., York, Pa. He began his career as a machine operator at York Steel Co., York, Pa. Mr. Kilgallen was Secretary, AMTDA Executive Committee and a member of the Association’s R3 Leadership Group. He is a graduate of York College.
Second Vice Chairman
Jerry Rex is President of Hegman Machinery, LLC, A Morris Group, Inc. Company, Maple Grove, Minn. Prior to that, he was President of Morris South, Charlotte, N.C., for 10 years. Prior to joining Morris, he managed sales and applications efforts in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the eastern two-thirds of North Carolina, as well as showroom and support staff in Ashland, Va. He was Vice President for 3 years at Gosiger, Inc., and a Regional Sales Manager at Carboloy. Starting his manufacturing career in 1976 as a machinist apprentice at GE Locomotive, he has been in the industry for more than 36 years.
Secretary
Brian J. Papke is President of Mazak Corporation, Florence, Ky. Mr. Papke was named President of Mazak Corporation in 1989. Mazak Corporation is the North American manufacturing and marketing unit of Yamazaki Mazak, headquartered in Oguchi, Japan. Since joining Mazak in 1987, Mazak has completed 14 expansions, including the establishment of a National Technology Center and Customer Service and Support Center and a network of technology centers throughout North America. Recently, expansions have included $15 million of the Kentucky manufacturing plant and new Versatech bridge style machining centers. Further expansion of Technology Centers is in progress with a new building in Houston and an expansion in Schaumburg, Ill. Mr. Papke is a graduate of the University of Illinois.
