BARCELONA, Spain — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 24, 2013 — GCT® Semiconductor, a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, today announced that its LTE single chip delivers fast and reliable 4G LTE connectivity to LG Electronics’ new mobile ultrabook and tablet, based on Windows 8. GCT’s LTE single-chip is fully compatible with the USB-IF Mobile Broadband Interface Model (MBIM), allowing for easy integration into next-generation mobile computing devices. GCT’s solution, embedded into a Windows-8 certified mobile broadband modem, enables LTE connectivity in LG’s brand new Windows-8 line, including the 14” U460 ultrabook as well as the tab book ultra Z160, both currently available with LGU+.
