Apple has been very busy this month and released a new iPhone; and iOS6; but also a whole host of improvements to the iPod range of products. Apple's iPod range is the number one selling brand of MP3 player and has been for a while now; however they still need to update the product line every now and again to stay ahead of the competition. Looking at their new range of iPods they have definitely made a good job of this, improving the iPod touch and iPod Nano considerably since their last updates. In this article with information from the Armenante Apple news blog we are going to make a look at these new product releases and see what you can expect from them.
iPod Touch - The Apple iPod Touch has seen a considerable upgrade since the previous model, as with the last iPod Touch Apple has kept it looking very similar to the iPhone only a lot thinner and lighter than the iPhone and the previous iPod Touch. The way Apple is trying to market the new iPod Touch is as a gaming device as well as an MP3 player. The iPod Touch being a gaming device is getting a lot more realistic now as it has an A5 processor under the hood and the 4 inch retina display alongside an increase in RAM this makes it quite a device and certainly a lot more powerful than an MP3 player. The only difference to the iPhone is that the iPod Touch is available in several colours now green, pink, white, blue and black. Along with the other colours the iPod Touch has an increased battery and an improved camera, which is now 5mp and shoots video at 720p, these are some pretty good upgrades since the last model.
The iPod Touch is available in 32GB and 64GB models and is a great device for anyone that doesn't want to get an iPhone, yet wants to use everything that the App store has to offer.
iPod Nano - Apple really did a complete remodel with this one, the previous model of the iPod Nano was the same square shape as the shuffle however with the redesign they have completely moved this around, making the new Nano a very small version of the iPhone. The iPod Nano has the same form factor as the iPhone with the home button as the bottom of the device. Just like the iPhone it has the icons on the home screen however there is only two rows of three.
The iPod Nano also includes an FM radio tuner, built in pedometer and Bluetooth functionality, however knowing Apple the Bluetooth will be pretty limited. As usual with the iPod Nanos this one is available in a variety of colours including the product (RED) version. It has seen as pretty big redesign but I think it breathes a new breath of life into the iPod Nano.
Both of the new devices and the iPhone 5 will also include the new Apple Earpods, which are the new earphones designed by Jony Ive himself.
