Texting and Video into PSAPs Provide First Responders with Better Intelligence
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Aug. 23, 2012 — (PRNewswire) — �At APCO 2012, Intergraph® Corporation demonstrated new products and enhancements that help public safety professionals make faster, smarter decisions. These innovations enable texting to 9-1-1, heighten situational awareness for first responders and add other key capabilities that aid police, fire, emergency services and others.
During the event, Intergraph highlighted the latest version of its industry-leading computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software. CAD 9.2 delivers a new generation of web-based and mobile products for full accessibility in the field.
CAD 9.2 supports text messaging into PSAPs through the incident lifecycle and makes it easy to include sensor and video data for response and investigations. It also features tools for rapid interface development and interoperability, which simplify data-sharing and promote enterprise information sharing and cross-jurisdictional cooperation.
Other innovations announced at APCO 2012:
- Intergraph's new Mobile Responder app extends command and control to field personnel using today's popular devices.
- Through a partnership with Intrado Inc., Intergraph will include Intrado's new Beware product, a cloud-based intelligence tool, in Intergraph's CAD and mobile products for greater situational awareness.
- Thinking beyond the PSAP, Intergraph unveiled its next generation web-based I/NetViewer and I/NetDispatcher CAD solution and records management system, inPURSUIT WebRMS, which combines enterprise data management with the benefits of a web-based thin client, eliminating the need to install records management software on individual workstations.
- Intergraph will soon include BI Direct, a business intelligence tool, as part of CAD and WebRMS.
