Oxford, England. August 22, 2012
The PLMIG announces that the second PLM-ERP Workshop will be held in the USA from 24-26 October 2012. The Workshop will be co-located with the PLM Innovation Americas Congress, allowing delegates to leverage the networking opportunities of the host event.
"We have already worked with PLM Innovation in this way in Europe, and the format has proved very successful." said Roger Tempest, co-Founder of the PLMIG. "It will be a great platform to bring the PLM-ERP series to the USA. Our working sessions are obviously very focused, and being with the Congress gives our delegates a chance to exchange some more general ideas on PLM as well."
The Atlanta Workshop is part of a series of three events that will give PLM and ERP specialists the chance to work together to formalise their common understanding and to generate a neutral, globally-applicable PLM-ERP Handbook.
In Atlanta the focus will be on the American viewpoint, and the PLM-ERP issues of American companies. These will be combined with results from Bristol, UK (see MCADCafe 13 August); and Friedrichshafen, Germany; to generate the international Handbook of PLM-ERP best practice.
Each workshop will produce a new version of the Handbook, building on the previous results. Everyone who participates in a workshop will receive the results of the whole series.
The Workshops have a completely interactive, 3-day format, and will use real PLM-ERP issues and examples as the raw material to generate a definitive neutral solution. User companies may therefore find it valuable to send colleagues from both backgrounds. Vendors, integrators and consultants are also welcome, as the best solution will come with involvement from all parts of the industry.
Registration for Atlanta is now open. Full details can be found on the PLMIG web site, or via plmerp@plmig.com.
The PLM Interest Group
The PLM Interest Group is the leading neutral industry group for PLM. It has developed the first ever PLM Governance Standard, together with a new generation of applied PLM material including the PLM Best Practice Library and the Path to PLM; and has previously run workshops that have produced the PLM Benchmarking Handbook; the PLM-SCM Guidebook; and the PLM Maturity Reference Manual.
PLM Innovation Americas
The PLM Innovation Americas 2012 Congress is North America's only independent and technology-agnostic PLM event. Bringing together 300 senior end-users, thought leaders and select PLM vendors, it aims to leverage the collective wealth of knowledge and experience to identify and encourage best practice. The combination of a world class speaker roster, cross-industry case studies, targeted Think-Tanks and pre-qualified networking opportunities make this North America's must-attend PLM gathering.
