Company’s Geospatial, Temporal, Real-Time Innovations to Transform Mobile Communications
SEATTLE — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 14, 2012 — SpaceCurve, the creator of a Big Data geospatial-temporal database that addresses the growing demand for immersive location intelligence, today announced it has raised an additional $3.5M in funding. The funding, an extension to its Series A round, includes participation from new investor San Francisco-based Triage Ventures and existing investors Reed Elsevier Ventures and Divergent Ventures. Doug Derwin, managing director of Triage Ventures, will join SpaceCurve’s board of directors. The company will use the funds to launch its first product offerings in early 2013.
“SpaceCurve’s concept of immersive location intelligence and the tremendous value it provides to the mobile communications market was the basis for our investment,” said Derwin. “The company has created important Big Data technology advancements and intellectual property to address this rapidly growing market.”
SpaceCurve is developing an immersive intelligence application and geospatial-temporal database to overcome limitations of current distributed database and analytics technologies. By continuously capturing and analyzing streams of geospatial, temporal, sensor network, social graph and other data, SpaceCurve enables the creation of immersive models of reality and awareness of complex contextual ad hoc relationships in real time.
“The positive response from major accounts to our technical results reflects the pent-up market demand for the new capabilities we are providing,” said John Slitz, CEO of SpaceCurve. “The new financing will help us rapidly deliver a robust product to meet this demand.”
