Infiniscale unveils ICLys™, up to 30X faster process variability management solution

Grenoble, France – May 23rd, 2012 – Infiniscale - a leading provider of variability design management solutions dedicated to Analog/RF, mixed-signal and memory, announced today the release of its ICLys™ software, a high-speed solution for variability analysis of advanced technologies, which will prevent costly project delays or even worse, poor quality and yield.

Increasing process variability is negatively impacting design cycle time, yield and reliability. ICLys™ is a comprehensive suite of variability analysis tools that allow the designer to address statistical analysis efficiently and accurately, and to make the right design decisions upfront. Its fully automatic use model allows ICLys’ parallelized unique algorithms to take advantage of multiple CPUs across an entire server farm, providing unprecedented simulation performance. The designer no longer needs to be a statistician to understand and enhance the impact of statistical variations on his/her design.

“InfiniScale has built its strong reputation on powerful model-based DFY solutions” said Dr. Firas Mohamed founder and CEO of InfiniScale. “Today, we are proud to announce we will be unveiling a new solution at DAC2012, called ICLys™, which completes our product offering of advanced technology variability analysis. ICLys is a true technology breakthrough - able to automatically accelerate Monte Carlo analysis up to 30X. We have come up with a unique engine for local variability analysis, which does not have a limitation on the number of parameters. ICLys™ will give designers unprecedented capabilities to perform variability management”.

About the Need for variability-aware solutions

Process variability and environmental variations have become a major factor impacting design performance and yield, resulting in costly project delays and even worse poor design quality and yield. Brute Monte Carlo analysis has become a key verification technique, however designers are limited to hundreds or thousands of runs (due to the lack of resources), which does not guarantee the design against global, local or environmental variation failures.

IClys’ Fast Monte Carlo guarantees brute Monte Carlo accuracy with up to 30X faster verification run times. Its High Sigma analysis (3, 4, 5 or 6 sigma) reduces hundreds-of-thousands, millions, or even billions of runs to a few thousand runs, making advanced technology design verification possible.  Where managing local variability by known tools and techniques suffers from the need to manage huge numbers of parameters, ICLys is able to handle thousands of parameters with a very limited number of simulations.

ICLys will be demonstrated at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in San Francisco, June 3-5, 2012 at the InfiniScale booth #2713.
