BURNABY, British Columbia — (BUSINESS WIRE) — May 18, 2012 — Teradici, the developer of the PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) protocol, along with ITER, the joint international scientific experiment that aims to demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power, will host a live webinar on May 23 on increasing CAD productivity and reducing IT challenges by centralizing workstations. As part of the “True Experience. Network Delivered.” webinar series, this presentation will provide an in-depth look into ITER's experience deploying PCoIP remote workstation solutions, as well as the benefits and tradeoffs of centralizing CAD workstations for users in dispersed locations.
As today’s automotive, aerospace and manufacturing OEMs leverage a network of designers, contractors and suppliers distributed throughout the world, large projects often involve CAD designers in multiple offices, cities and countries. This creates many challenges for IT staff such as database replication, data security and the management of distributed workstations; similarly, data synchronization, data transfer and old data create challenges for designers. This webinar, led by Juergen Dirnberger, IT specialist at ITER, and Randy Hackbart, director of product management, workstation solutions at Teradici, will cover:
- ITER's experience in deploying PCoIP remote workstation solutions for CATIA users across multiple countries
- The benefits and tradeoffs of centralizing CAD workstations for users in dispersed locations
- An overview of Teradici’s PCoIP remote workstation solutions
