New VizUp SDK to Make Polygon Reduction Technology Embeddable for Third-Party 3D Graphics Applications

May 11, 2012 -- VizUp.com announces today VizUp SDK enabling third-party developers to fully benefit from the company´s powerful 3D model optimization and polygon reduction technology. VizUp products can decrease the model size by up to 90%, while preserving the visualization quality.

Based on the new polygon decimation platform with highly scalable architecture, VizUp SDK provides advanced 3D model optimization capabilities for integration into third-party software. While the new SDK will be featured in future VizUp.com products, it is already available to all computer graphics application developers through flexible licensing. Developers of 3D modeling, CAD/CAM, GIS and other computer graphics software could now decrease model size and improve 3D rendering performance by taking advantage of VizUp polygon reduction technology in their products.

"While VizUp software has been already very well received, our customers often request a toolkit that would enable them to use the VizUp technology to the fullest. VizUp SDK was developed to meet that demand. It is built on a completely redesigned new 3D-optimization platform with a highly scalable architecture that allows processing millions of polygons with lightning speed and improved accuracy. For our company, this SDK release is not a routine announcement, it´s an important milestone: we are delivering the advanced VizUp technology packaged as a toolkit to our customers to use in their products and applications" says Alexander Kogan, CEO, VizUp.com.

What makes VizUp SDK so special is its ability to convert 3D models from poly-heavy to low-poly without any significant impact on model visual presentation. The resulting models maintain maximum level of details for the poly count achieved, and preserve the visual quality of the originals. What´s even better is that decimation with VizUp SDK causes minimum distortions for shape boundaries and texture mapping.

Where some other 3D optimizati! on tools fail, VizUp technology shines. The new SDK scalable architecture allows the software to handle large models gracefully and robustly. Using the SDK ensures that the application will have no problem optimizing models with 10,000,000 or more polygons in a matter of seconds.

VizUp SDK Features at a Glance:

- up to 90% reduction in polygon numbers without losing visualization quality
- intelligent handling of shape boundaries and visual attributes
- simple, straightforward and model format agnostic C++ API
- large model processing with robust performance and low memory footprint

Pricing and Availability:

VizUp SDK is available for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Prices start from $1995 for a single-user license.
