The Switch is On…Pro/E Customers Move to SolidWorks
From Fortune 500 companies with large assemblies to small independent engineering shops, we are witnessing a significant switch from Pro/E over to SolidWorks. All of these customers expressed common reasons for their decision to switch to SolidWorks:
  • The pool of new hire candidates is experienced with SolidWorks - few know Pro/E
  • Creo has been on the market for over 9 months and is a known entity
  • SolidWorks is the dominant file format customers and suppliers/partners use
  • SolidWorks provides greater innovation and superior user productivity
  • SolidWorks Simulation and Enterprise PDM are easier and faster to use
  • Total cost of ownership is lower with SolidWorks than with Pro/E
We are consistently hearing this from our own customer base, so if you are still using Pro/E and are confused by Creo, you are not alone. SolidWorks now has over 1.7 million users and is gaining momentum every day. If you are ready to make the switch, and want to explore if SolidWorks is the right tool for you, let us know and we will provide a customized needs assessment for you and your team.

Customer Corner: IGT Switches to SolidWorks
IGT IGT, International Gaming Technology, is the world's largest gaming machine manufacturer, with a product portfolio that includes traditional reel slot machines, video slots and video poker, and progressive payout machines. They chose to replace Pro/Engineer and WindChill with 46 licenses of SolidWorks and 58 licenses of EPDM.

IGT made the decision to choose SolidWorks even though they are deeply entrenched with Pro/Engineer legacy data. The reason for a SolidWorks decision was based on a Cost of Ownership comparison of SolidWorks and Pro/Engineer. New innovations in SolidWorks 2012 clearly made an impact with enhancements in Sheet Metal and Costing . We are proud to welcome IGT to the Hawk Ridge Systems Community of SolidWorks Users.
