April 03, 2012 -- (Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, has been contracted by Missouri American Water (MOAW) to execute a geographic information system (GIS) conversion project.
Using the American Water database model, GeoDecisions will leverage its extensive experience and expertise to develop custom GIS conversion tools. The project will include converting water mains, hydrants, valves, and fittings, etc., as well as facility data and associated attributes from MicroStation® to Esri® ArcGIS® 10.
MOAW supplies high-quality water and wastewater service to approximately 1.5 million people in more than 100 communities. The GIS conversion project will improve its service to its clients and enhance production and quality. The project will cover approximately 405 square miles throughout the St. Louis County, Mo., area.
