FEBRUARY 14, 2012 – Bibb County, Georgia is partnering with GISi to get a jumpstart on their adoption of Esri’s AG4LG initiative. The jumpstart will include standing up the maps and apps gallery, deploying selected apps, implementing the local government information model, and performing knowledge transfer.
On the heels of a GIS HealthCheck that established short term, midterm, and long term goals, Bibb County is zeroing in on the short term objectives and is aiming to get a “quick win.” “The GIS HealthCheck was revealing in that it identified the requirements to take our GIS program from its current status of maintaining to optimizing,” said Angela Brooks, GIS Manager of Bibb County. “Adoption of Esri’s ArcGIS for Local Government initiative is the first major building block toward meeting our goals, not to mention giving us a quick win and building momentum for future enhancements.”
GISi, an Esri Platinum Partner, is looking forward to working with local governments to adopt and extend the Local Government Information Model and to contribute to the maps, apps, and tools that will be made available. “Our objective is to help Local Governments embrace the resources available from Esri’s ArcGIS for Local Government and see it as a way to help them maximize their investment in Esri technology,” says Kevin Stewart, Account Manager at GISi.
