Dassault's Falcon 2000S recently received the prestigious 2011 Good Design Award for its specially designed interior, crafted in conjunction with BMW Group Designworks USA.
The award for Design Excellence is given by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Center for Architecture, Art and Urban Studies and is the world's oldest and most recognized program acknowledging design excellence.
Dassault Falcon 2000S was selected for the award from among thousands of product designs from over 38 countries.
"The interior of the Falcon 2000S is a blend of beauty, function and design that has resulted in one of the most comfortable and aesthetically pleasing cabins available in a business aircraft," said John Rosanvallon, President and CEO of Dassault Falcon. "We're pleased to accept this award on behalf of all those involved in the project."
About the Interior
The Falcon 2000S cabin space has been optimized for efficiency and productivity, with an interior that uses visual design elements to stretch the cabin and create better flow. Upwash and downwash ambient lights, as well as more contrast between materials further emphasize the spaciousness of the full-size cabin, which provides plenty of arm and leg room for passengers.
The interior is available in three elegant color and design harmonies. "Sedona" features earthy beige colors for a desert-like ambiance. "Havana" features a palette of browns while "Alpine" offers contrasts between the crisp colors of an alpine peak and the darker colors of earth and rock.
About the 2000S
The 3,350 nautical mile, twin-engine Falcon 2000S is based upon the popular Falcon 2000 platform and includes inboard slats, the new generation EASy II flight deck as well as a pair of high-Mach blended winglets. A new generation 308C engine from Pratt & Whitney provides 7,000 pounds of thrust and produces 20% fewer NOx emissions than previous generations. The 2000S can connect popular city pairs such as New York and London; Beijing and Dehli; Paris and Dubai; and Sao Paulo and Cape Verde.
