NEWARK, N.J. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 7, 2011 — Michael Baker Jr., Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE Amex:BKR), has been awarded an enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) technical services contract from the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA). Under the contract, Baker will develop both mobile and web-based utility asset management systems, provide GIS mapping, GIS system architecture, application development, database support, and field data collection to enhance NJTA’s existing web-based GIS portal. Work on the project will commence in December 2011.
