November 21, 2011 -- (Harrisburg, Pa.) GeoDecisions, an information technology company specializing in geospatial solutions, celebrated the annual geographic information system (GIS) Day on Nov. 16, 2011, with a series of presentations and events throughout the country.
GIS Day is a global, grassroots event held during the third week of November aimed at providing a better understanding of GIS in our communities, schools, and organizations. Many employees throughout GeoDecisions captured the essence of the day by delivering educational lectures at colleges and universities that featured real-world examples of GIS and its extensive applications and benefits in our world.
The nationwide educational outreach efforts included presentations, exhibits, and small lunch-time talks at Harrisburg Area Community College, Franklin & Marshall College, the University of Pennsylvania, Shippensburg University, George Mason University, the University of Virginia, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
