SolidWorks Sheet Metal Tips and Techniques Presented
Nashua, NH, September 21, 2011: Rapid Sheet Metal Inc, specializing in the rapid turnaround of sheet metal prototypes hosted over 95 members of the New Hampshire SolidWorks User Group (NH SWUG) on Thursday, August 4. After tours of Rapid’s state of the art sheet metal facility and a plentiful buffet dinner, the crowd settled in for an evening of discussions on sheet metal design techniques in the world’s most widely used sheet metal design CAD software, SolidWorks.
“The User Group meeting was a great way for SolidWorks Users to connect with others in the engineering community and refine their sheet metal design skills. Kevin Mitstifer, a Rapid engineer provided an amazing sheet metal design technique presentation” said James Jacobs, President of Rapid Sheet Metal. “Since we and many of our customers are SolidWorks users, we were delighted to be able to host such a valuable and rewarding event.”
As a result of feedback at the SWUG meeting, Rapid Sheet Metal dedicated time to create a “Tooling Library” on their web site. This allows SolidWorks users to drag and drop tooling features from the Rapid web site into a Solidworks design on their desktop. Rapid Sheet Metal is consistently adding new tooling feature downloads to their library, most recently a series of embossments and louvers. The Rapid Sheet Metal Tooling library can be accessed at www.rapidsheetmetal.com/tooling.
