Extensible CAD Technologies Releases InspectionXpert OnDemand Automated Inspection Tool

New release requires no installation, eliminating need for IT support

Raleigh, NC – June 8, 2011 –Extensible CAD Technologies announces the release of InspectionXpert OnDemand, a web-enabled and completely redesigned version of the company’s flagship automated inspection software. InspectionXpert OnDemand saves companies significant time and money by eliminating the time-consuming and error-prone process of manually ballooning inspection drawings and the manual creation of inspection sheets for first article and in-process inspections.

InspectionXpert OnDemand enables manufacturers to quickly create error-free, ballooned inspection drawings from PDF and TIF files, which may be created from CAD files created in most CAD systems (CATIA V5, AutoCAD, Pro/ENGINEER, Solid Edge) or scanned paper drawings.

InspectionXpert OnDemand does not require CAD software, so companies that don’t use CAD to create or modify inspection drawings can still use InspectionXpert OnDemand to automate their quality inspection drawings. The software enables users to instantly export dimensions to standard inspection report forms, such as AS9102 and PPAP, as well as to user-customized report formats. These accurate quality inspection reports can then be quickly shared with inspectors, vendors and clients.

InspectionXpert OnDemand requires no installation, typically eliminating the need for IT support. Users simply click on a web link to instantly launch the software and always have access to the latest version of the software every time they log on. InspectionXpert OnDemand also offers direct integration with Net-inspect quality management software, allowing users to publish their inspection ballooning data directly to their Net-Inspect account.

Mike Dunlop, president of Net-inspect, says, “InspectionXpert OnDemand is the first bubbling tool to be fully integrated into the Net-inspect suite of programs, and we are very excited about the program being instantly available on demand to all our customers around the world.”

Other significant features include:

Accurate text extraction. Users can choose between searchable text recognition or powerful optical character recognition (OCR) for accurately extracting dimension and tolerance information from their PDF or TIF drawing.

High-quality image extraction.  Users can extract high-quality images of each characteristic for use on their inspection report forms.  This enables InspectionXpert OnDemand to be extremely useful even for scanned drawings.

Easy navigation. Tightly integrated navigation tools enable users to click on a balloon in their drawing to view and edit the data for that item. Clicking on a row in the inspection characteristic table highlights the corresponding balloon(s) on their drawing.

Intuitive user interface. InspectionXpert OnDemand utilizes a modern, single-window ribbon interface that makes performing common tasks fast and easy.

Multiple drawing support. Users can work with multiple, single or multi-page drawings in a single project.

File Management.  Simple file management ensures that all of your inspection project data is stored in a single project file.

Project migration. Project files created with the company’s InspectionXpert First Article can be easily migrated to InspectionXpert OnDemand.

Pricing: Convenient monthly subscription pricing provides a low-risk, low start-up cost option for automating your quality inspection process.
