CPS Energy Awards Enspiria Solutions Meter Data Management Systems Integration Project

Denver, CO – (ENSPIRIA.COM) – January 21, 2009 – Enspiria Solutions, a leading provider of consulting and systems integration services to the utility, cable and government sectors, announced today that it has been selected by CPS Energy, the nation’s largest municipally owned provider of electricity and gas, to be the systems integrator for their meter data management system (MDMS) integration project.

The MDMS systems integration project will integrate Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and MDMS with various areas of CPS Energy’s operational systems, including asset management, customer service, mobile workforce management, demand response, GIS, outage management and customer web applications. The MDMS integration will enable CPS Energy to realize its investment in AMI and support improvements to its outage management system, customer service, reliability planning, and engineering and operations. It will also serve as the first step in the CPS progression toward Smart Grid.

“This project is important to us because it supports our service-related goals to provide enhanced customer services and energy efficiencies. We are pleased to be working with Enspiria Solutions because of their proven expertise in implementing AMI/MDMS projects and in planning for Smart Grid,” said Sabrina Geary, Director of IT Technical Services, CPS Energy. “While the focus of this project is MDMS, we are integrating with all of our operational systems and we found that the Enspiria team is uniquely qualified and experienced in systems integration in support of AMI/MDMS.”

Enspiria Solutions will follow a phased project approach with the planning phase leading directly to full deployment of all anticipated functionality at the completion of the third implementation phase. Enspiria has engaged Deloitte to assist in this effort. Deloitte will be primarily responsible for providing services in support of the integration of the MDMS to CPS Energy’s SAP customer information system.

“CPS Energy is taking significant steps toward Smart Grid and the Enspiria team of MDMS, systems integration, and change management experts is thrilled to be working with CPS Energy toward this goal,” said David Elve, Principal Consultant, Enspiria Solutions.

In parallel to the MDMS implementation, Enspiria Solutions will be working closely with CPS Energy to identify and define their business processes and organizational change management to ensure their readiness for Smart Grid.
