GeoAnalytics® Assists Michels Corporation in Implementing Next Generation GIS Technology

MADISON, WI – November 24, 2008 – GeoAnalytics® Inc., an IT consulting firm that specializes in the planning, design, and implementation of enterprise class, spatially enabled business solutions and information systems, today announced the completion of a next generation Geographic Information Systems (GIS) upgrade for Michels Corporation.

Michels Corporation is a U.S. Top 10 Utility contractor that takes pride in its innovation and leadership and has invested in GIS to help visualize and manage the deployment, performance, and maintenance of its assets. GeoAnalytics has assisted Michels in planning and implementing ESRI’s ArcGIS Server 9.3 technology to provide a more enterprise and scalable company GIS platform. Specific services rendered include: 1) ArcGIS Server capacity planning and version 9.3 upgrade support; 2) GIS network performance optimization and security architecture recommendations; and 3) a restructuring of the company’s GIS database into a multi-tier data management configuration.

“The new GIS technology platform will support a wider range of internal company operations, better integrate with existing non-spatial business information systems, and provide Michel’s customers with web-based access to GIS project information,” notes Phil Paradies, Michels GIS System Manager. “This upgrade also more significantly leverages Michel’s advanced IT infrastructure to provide secure and thin client access to critical GIS resources.”
