Liga Systems Announces the Addition of Jim Hogan to Its Board of Directors

SUNNYVALE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—July 30, 2008— Liga Systems, Inc., innovative provider of lightning-fast RTL and gate-level hybrid simulation, today announced the addition of Jim Hogan, semiconductor design and manufacturing industry veteran, to its board of directors. Hogan joins Ligas board comprised of Robert Schwartz, Managing Director of Third Point Ventures, LLC; Brian Hamel, semiconductor and EDA industry veteran; and Henry Verheyen, CEO and president of Liga Systems to aid Liga Systems in furthering its business and technology deployment goals.

Private investor Jim Hogan serves on the board of directors at a number of industry-leading emerging technology companies. He has worked in the semiconductor design and manufacturing industry for 33 years, serving as a senior executive in electronic design automation, semiconductor intellectual property, semiconductor equipment, and fabrication companies. Hogan has held a variety of executive positions at several public companies, including Senior VP of business development at Artisan Components, Senior VP of business development and the senior member of the Office of Chief Technologist at Cadence. A Cadence Executive Fellow, Hogan held multiple key positions at Cadence including President of Cadence Japan, Corporate VP of marketing, and Corporate VP of field operations. Previous to Cadence, he served as CTO of Smart Machines, Inc., a semiconductor equipment automation company, and spent a decade at National Semiconductor and Philips, respectively, where he established device physics laboratories globally. Hogan holds a BA degree in mathematics, a BS degree in computer science and an MBA, all from San Jose State University.

More and more, electronics companies are recognizing that the quality of results, and productivity of functional verification using conventional simulation methodologies, is falling short, stated Jim Hogan. NitroSIM, Ligas flagship product, is being successfully deployed in graphics processors, networking and broadband digital broadcasting, in both single chip and multi-chip verification efforts, and is enabling simulation scalability to unequaled capacity levels. I am delighted to be able to work with the seasoned executive team at Liga, and my fellow board members, to contribute strategic guidance towards worldwide adoption and deployment of NitroSIM.

I am very pleased to welcome Jim Hogan, electronics industry veteran, to Ligas board of directors, said Henry Verheyen, president and CEO of Liga Systems. His vast experience and renowned business acumen further validates our patented hybrid simulation technology, product and market potential. Jims strategic guidance, combined together with the cumulative experience and know-how of the other board members, will be instrumental in the companys deployment strategies.
