Crossbeam Systems Uses EZchip's Network Processors for its X-Series Next Generation Security Platform

CAMPBELL, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 25, 2008— EZchip Technologies Ltd. (a LanOptics Ltd. company, NASDAQ:EZCH), a fabless semiconductor company providing Ethernet network processors, today announced that Crossbeam Systems, the leading provider of next-generation security platforms for high-performance networks, is using EZchips NP-2 network processors in the Network Processor Modules (NPM) of the Crossbeam X-Series Next Generation Security Platform product family. The Crossbeam NPMs utilizing the EZchip NP-2 are already shipping to customers.

We evaluated the available network processor silicon vendors and selected EZchips NP-2 because of its IP network focus, true 10Gbps bi-directional performance and single chip implementation, said Chet Gapinski, Crossbeams Vice President of Engineering. We are impressed with the capabilities of NP-2, enabling us to deliver true 10Gbps performance in our next-generation Network Processing Modules. Additionally, we are confident that EZchip has the technology and track record to execute their road map to 20Gbps and beyond.

Crossbeams highly successful X-Series line of security platforms is already deployed in many enterprises, carrier networks and data centers worldwide, and EZchip is privileged that Crossbeam has opted to leverage EZchips network processors for providing switching and load-balancing services in this system, said Kosta Sidopoulos, EZchips Sales Director. We look forward to continue working with Crossbeam to support its requirements for a best-in-class, high-performance platform that will meet the next-generation security needs of its customers.

EZchips network processors (NPU) provide networking equipment vendors with flexible packet processing and integrate the key functions needed for delivering triple-play services across packet-based networks and for enabling Carrier Ethernet networks. EZchips NPU highlights include:
