Takumi Technology Joins Si2's Design-For-Manufacturability Coalition

AUSTIN, Texas—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 3, 2008— Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) today announced that Takumi Technology has joined the Design-For-Manufacturability Coalition (DFMC) which will build on previous efforts to ensure that ICs can be manufactured in accordance with the original design intent. Si2 also announces that there will be an Open Door session at the DFMC meeting at the Design Automation Conference, on June 10 next to the Anaheim Convention Center. All interested parties are welcome to attend and find out more about this important industry effort.

As one of the early players in delivering DFM solutions to customers, Takumi had to deal with multiple semantics and data formats, says Mr. Akifumi Goto, president and CEO of Takumi Technology. Lack of standards force customers and solution providers to spend time and resources on integration issues rather than on real DFM issues. We are very happy to see this standardization effort and glad to be a part of it.

We are pleased to welcome Takumi Technology into the DFMC, says Steve Schulz, president & CEO of Si2. Their special expertise in DFM solutions currently being used by major semiconductor companies and foundries will be of great value as the DFMC works toward helping the design and manufacturing realms meet.

Companies wishing to attend the DFMC Open Door Session at DAC can leave a message at this link: http://www.si2.org/?page=3.

In addition, the Annual Si2 Member/Guest Meeting will be held on June 9, 2008 from 6-8:00 PM in the Anaheim Convention Center, Room 304B, Anaheim, CA. Mark Mason of Texas Instruments, Chair of the DFMC, will be the keynote speaker. All members and guests are encouraged to attend. Please notify Si2 if you would like to attend at: http://www.si2.org/?page=3.

About the Design-for-Manufacturability Coalition

The purpose of the DFMC is to specify open-standards for software interfaces between EDA software tools and manufacturing software. The specification includes standard terminology definitions, semantics and exchange formats for relevant manufacturing information. It also includes standard software application program interfaces (API) for models describing different manufacturing processes, yield mechanisms and circuit behaviors. DFMC members include: Cadence (Nasdaq: CDNS), Freescale Semiconductor, IBM (NYSE: IBM), Infineon (NYSE: IFX), Intel (Nasdaq: INTC), Mentor Graphics (Nasdaq: MENT), Pyxis Technology, Sagantec, Samsung (KSE: 005930), STARC, Takumi Technology, Texas Instruments Chair (NYSE: TXN), and UMC (NYSE: UMC). All interested companies are welcome to join the DFMC, and further information can be found at this link: http://www.si2.org/?page=487.
