AMIS and SRS Labs Team Up to Enhance Music Listening Experience

POCATELLO, Idaho—(BUSINESS WIRE)—January 7, 2008— AMI Semiconductor (NASDAQ: AMIS), a leading designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art mixed-signal and digital products for the automotive, medical, industrial, military/aerospace, and high-voltage communication markets, and SRS Labs Inc. (NASDAQ:SRSL), a leading provider of surround sound, audio enhancement and voice processing technologies, today announced that AMI Semiconductor's BelaSigna 250 audio processing system runs certified versions of SRS Labs' WOW HD algorithm.

SRS WOW HD is a complete and scaleable algorithm suite that can be customized by portable audio manufacturers to improve the quality of audio played over any digital audio player. It significantly improves audio performance, especially of highly compressed music files, and restores information that is lost by traditional recording and playback techniques, creating a more natural and realistic audio experience. AMI Semiconductor's BelaSigna 250 enhances SRS' offerings, enabling WOW HD to run on any portable music accessory. BelaSigna 250, an ultra-low-power audio processing system, allows standalone operation, portability and ultra-low power consumption.

"There is an increasing use of high-performance digital signal processing (DSP) systems within the high-end segment of portable audio devices and accessories. Consumers are now looking for "smart" or value-added headphones and communications devices. We are excited to be able to offer BelaSigna solutions with WOW HD to meet this need," said David Coode, who manages AMI Semiconductor's Audio Solutions Team. "We have been working with SRS Labs on extremely power-efficient audio and voice solutions for a long time now and WOW HD is the next step in bringing real value to the music listening experience."

"AMI Semiconductor's BelaSigna 250 platform is an ideal integration of analog and DSP functionality for in-place audio processing, making it a great match to many of SRS Labs' solutions for audio accessories," said Joanna Skrdlant, senior director, global business development and product management at SRS Labs. "The miniature ultra-low-power capabilities of BelaSigna products make it possible for a broader spectrum of audio accessory makers to move to AMIS DSP-based designs featuring SRS Labs' branded audio enhancements."

BelaSigna 250 also runs certified versions of SRS Labs' VIP(TM) (Voice Intelligibility Processor) algorithm to improve voice communication on headsets and mobile phones.
