Pro Design Goes Japan

MUNICH, Germany & KOBE, Japan—(BUSINESS WIRE)—October 16, 2007— ProDesign, the leading supplier of high-speed ASIC and SoC verification platforms, today announced that the company, in the course of expanding its business in Asia, has established PROTOtyping Japan Corp., as it's representative to promote and distribute Pro Design's successful CHIPit family of high-speed ASIC and SoC verification systems throughout Japan.

The partnership between Pro Design and PROTOtyping Japan became effective at the beginning of September. During the first two weeks of September representatives of Pro Design stayed in Japan and introduced CHIPit to Japanese customers. Pro Design took advantage of this opportunity to announce its latest products - the CHIPit QuickSilver Edition, a very powerful and flexible 1 FPGA solution based on Virtex-5 and the brand new Virtex-5 PCI-Express Rocket I/O interface that allows customers to test 4 lane PCI-Express at full speed.

"The Japanese market for ASIC and SoC verification systems is one of the largest in the world, definitely the largest in Asia, and it is still growing rapidly. It was very important for us to break into this market. Therefore we were looking for a competent and experienced partner with an extensive understanding of the local market" said Philipp Ampletzer, Pro Design's Sales Manager for Asia-Pacific. "In PROTOtyping Japan we found such a strong partner with an impressing competence and experience not only in sales, but also in technical questions. We are very happy that PROTOtyping Japan is distributing CHIPit in Japan and we are looking forward to a long and very successful co-operation with a great partner."

"In these days, the important capability for hardware ASIC prototyping is becoming not only easy to use as scalable platform, but also integrated software to shorten setting up time and integrated debug facility for the complicated design with more than 10MASICG. In this meaning, almost all designers who got the information of CHIPit from us agreed to use this platform at next project. We believe this platform will soon become the standard platform for complicated ASIC prototyping in Japan using our company resource. We are very happy to be ProDesign's partner." Motohiko Torimoto, President & CEO, PROTOtyping Japan stated.
