Ciranova Releases PyCell Studio on Microsoft Windows

SANTA CLARA, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 29, 2007— Ciranova(TM), Inc, an EDA start-up developing open and robust layout generation technology for analog and mixed signal design, today announced the release of version 4.1 of PyCell Studio(TM) on multiple platforms, including Microsoft Windows. Version 4.1 marks the debut of the Windows version of PyCell Studio, Ciranova's breakthrough and free tool for developing PCells. Now for the first time, developers will be able to author PCells using Windows-based environments, and then deploy them on another platform, such as Linux or Solaris. A single PyCell library will work on any platform, regardless of which platform was used to create it.

"Making PyCell Studio available for Microsoft Windows opens up PCell authoring to a much wider user base," said Ed Petrus, Ciranova COO and vice president of engineering. "Because PyCell Studio is free, anybody with a laptop can now use it anywhere, anytime to create PCells and layout generators."

PyCell Studio version 4.1 also includes additional upgrades and enhancements, including:

-- Support for Python version 2.5.1

-- Multiple levels of Undo and Redo to enhance authoring productivity

-- Significantly enhanced multipart path functionality

Customers with a current Ciranova commercial support contract will also receive these Premium Features to enhance productivity:

-- Additional DRC operations to allow more advanced design rule checking and design rule correct layout generation

-- Enhancements to DRC rule deck conversions from existing DRC decks

Availability

PyCell Studio Release 4.1 is available now for free download on the following platforms:

-- Microsoft Windows

-- Linux (32-bit and 64-bit)

-- Solaris 8 (for SPARC processors)

-- Solaris 10 (for x86 processors)

PyCell Studio can be used to develop, validate and deploy any number of PyCell libraries, without restriction. The PyCell Studio distributions include everything required to create and release PyCells, including Python, OpenAccess, documentation, tutorials, utilities and sample PyCell code.

Premium Features are provided to customers with a current Ciranova commercial support contract. Interested parties may contact Ciranova to request more information or a quotation.
